IMPORTANT UPDATE for the Arizona Homeschool Community
July 1, 2017
Dear friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I need to share some tragic news with you.
This past Thursday night, Nancy and James Manos’ youngest daughter, Alex (age 23), took her life and has gone on to be with the Lord. As you can imagine, we are all very shocked, hurt, and grieving the loss of Alex, but we rejoice in knowing that she’s safely in the Lord’s loving arms.
Of course there are many questions , but unfortunately we don’t have all the answers. We do covet your prayers for the Manos family and if you feel led, forward all letters and cards to the following address:
AFHE
Attn: Nancy Manos
P.O. Box 2035
Chandler, AZ 85244-2035
This coming week is going to be the busiest time of the year for AFHE, as it’s our annual Arizona Homeschool Convention. Thankfully, we have a strong team surrounding Nancy and we are working hard to make the Convention a great time of inspiration for everyone.
If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out to us. The whole AFHE Board and Nancy want to thank you for your patience and prayers as we are coming into the home stretch of the Convention.
May God richly bless you and your family.

I don’t know you, but I wanted you to know that I’m praying for you and your family. I am crying for the person I never knew, but you probably memorized every detail. Through every tear you shed, may you know that strangers are lifting you in prayer and crying with you. God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand as you travel this road together.
James & Nancy – our dear friends,
Words cannot express the deep sadness we share with you, during this time. We grieve with you. Knowing Alex is with Jesus is beyond comfort; it is reassurance and hope. Please know how much we love you all and will continue to lift you up in prayer. May the Lord of all, saturate you with His peace, comfort and love. God bless you and hold you tight.
We’re always here for you.
Mike and Alice
I’m speechless!! I only just noticed this as our plane was taxiing up to our gate in Chicago. Anything I say will sound so trite. May the Lord indeed now provide you with the peace that passes all understanding – that ONLY He can give!
Nancy and James,
My heart is absolutely breaking for you. I am so, so very sorry. I will be praying for you every day, throughout the day. May you feel the loving arms of our Savior as you grieve and journey through this time of unimaginable sadness and loss.
Sorry to hear that. It must be tough for you to go through a period of sadness and what I can do for you is just praying. Wish you all the best.
Thank you all for your kind comments and prayers! We have posted the video of our daughter’s memorial service on YouTube for those who want to get to know her better. It’s also a message of hope and peace in the midst of grieving a great loss.
